Thumb orthosis
Thumb basal joint orthosis with replaceable fabric inlays for immobilization of all thumb joints. Allows the wearer to continue to grasp objects using the affected hand.
Features
- Additional wearing comfort thanks to the cutout above the extensor tendon
- Optimum immobilization of the carpal joint, and the saddle joint and basal joint of the thumb
- Thermoplastically moldable, transparent plastic
- Adjustable to different thumb circumferences by means of a removable strip near the basal joint of the thumb
- Adjustable strap on the wrist and thumb enable fixation of the end joint
- Two washable fabric inlays made from skin-friendly material ensure comfortable wearing characteristics and temperatures
Indications
- Immobilization of the radial carpus and the saddle joint in case of rhizarthroses
- Arthrosis or arthritis of the radial metacarpus and the MP1
- Radial or ulnar (lateral) ligament lesion (skier's thumb)
- Navicular pseudoarthrosis while maintaining the gripping function
- Distortions (sprains/strains)
- Luxations (tendon/joint injuries)
- Posttraumatic/postoperative immobilization (plaster cast substitute)
- Partial immobilization of the metacarpus
